Month of the women entrepreneurs 2010 – Uganda

MOWE – Uganda Entrepreneurs exhibition begins 18th-21st November 2010 at Uganda National Theatre Gardens.  The exhibition is to promote and recognize women’s enterprise Development in Uganda.

The Month of the women entrepreneurs 2010 is being organized by International Labour Organization and a number of parallel activities have been taking place throughout the month.  Women in Uganda contribute a lot more to the NGP and ILO recognizes this.

Partners like Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Association, Women of Uganda Network, Council for Economic empowerment and ICON, DFCU Bank, Enterprise Uganda and others, has fully mobilized their members to participate in MOWE activities.

Ntulume Village Women Development Association (NVIWODA) an active member of Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET), are among exhibitors and these included,

St. Bruno Doll making group, Packmint Enterprise engaged in baked items, Juliemma Enterprise Designers of Sweater and Bead necklace, BWOCH Crafts dealers in craft products.

To form a very strong MOWE, my own observation as a (Woman Achiever), ILO to achieve its intended objectives, more resources is needed to fully mobilize many invisible women entrepreneurs who are engaged in various enterprises in Uganda. It’s this society that contributes to the Nations growth.

Women face the challenges of a central market to promote their products and improve the quality of their products for a global market.
